Teaching is an absolute passion of mine! I am excited for the opportunity to be able to work with you and your child. It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning, kindness, and adventure in first grade; and I can’t wait to see what this school year has in store for us!
I am married to my wonderful husband, Jeff. We have two daughters, Kristin and Sommer, and a son, Dakota. They are all officially adults, but they will always be our babies! Soon, I will be a grandmother! My oldest daughter, Kristin, is expecting a girl in September. My free time is usually spent training for a half marathon, reading, and snuggling with my fur babies, Reece, Remington, and Shadow. Recently, we added three more members of our family! We now have three horses; Spider, Prince, and Cricket.
I have lived in Rockbridge County for the majority of my life, and I recently moved to the beautiful and friendly community of Raphine. I graduated from my hometown school of Parry McCluer High School, and later went on to graduate from Mary Baldwin College in 2009.
This is the beginning of my 13th year, and my sixth year at Bessie Weller Elementary School! I have taught a myriad of grades including; Pre-K, kindergarten, first grade, third grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade. I absolutely love teaching in first grade, and helping students grow into lifelong learners.
It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. It is so important to keep communication open between us, and I would love to talk to you whenever you feel the need. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to a great year together!
