  • Central Shenandoah Health District 11/14/19 Letter of Information

    The Waynesboro-Augusta Health Department and the Staunton-Augusta Health Department are informing residents of an increase in the number of reported pertussis cases among area residents.

    CLUBS/AFTER_SCHOOL:

     

    1. Staunton Storm Theatre proudly announces auditions for the Spring Musical, FOOTLOOSE! Auditions will be held December 13-18. All students are welcome. Audition materials and procedures are available now outside Mrs Harner's room. Questions? Contact Ms. Maynard or Ms. Harner.

     

    1. FCCLA Mental Health Week…..This week December 9-13 is FCCLA’s Mental Health Week!! We are sponsoring a spirit week. Monday December 9th is Flannel Day, Tuesday December 10th-Disney Day, Wednesday December 11th is vacation day, Thursday December 12th is Hero vs. Villain Day, and Friday December 13th is Color Day wear green or blue in support of Mental Health. Help support FCCLA in raising awareness for Mental Health.

     

    1. Spanish Club will not meet this week.

     

     

    SPORTS/BAND

     

    1. Attention Football players… Off Season weight training will be this week on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday (December 10th, 11th, & 12th).

     

    1. No Softball Open Gym today.

     

    1. Indoor Track Practice and Meet….The meet today has been cancelled. No track meet today. Indoor track will not practice today. See you tomorrow for practice at 3:15PM.

     

    1. Congratulations to JV Girls Basketball for their victory Friday over Stonewall Jackson High School.

     

    1. Congratulations to Varsity Girls Basketball for their 48-43 victory over Stonewall Jackson High School Friday night at Stonewall.

     

    1. We would like to congratulate the Staunton Wrestling for a strong performance at the Shumaker Classic Congratulations to Khalil Crawford, Satchell Friar, Jeffrey Biby, and Dasani Alston for all placing in the top 4 in their weight classes. Good luck to the wrestlers as they travel to Fishburne tomorrow.

     

    10. The Band Boosters will be holding a poinsettia sale, as well as a raffle for items from Pampered Chef. Please bring your poinsettia or raffle money to the concert; someone will go home with these great prizes!

     

    11. Boys Soccer ……..Practice will go every Monday and Wednesday at Bessie Weller from 5:30-7:00.If you are trying out this spring for the Varsity Soccer Team you should be attending these sessions; unless you are participating in winter sports. Please bring shin guards and soccer ball with you. Everyone should have a valid physical on file before participation.

     

    EDUCATIONAL/CAREER:

     

    12. Attention Seniors…… Do you need help completing your college applications??? Have questions about the applications process or just don’t know where to start?? Join the Counseling Center each Wednesday from 3-4:00PM for college applications workshops. If you have any questions, see your counselor.

     

    13. Applications are now available for the Shenandoah Valley Governor School. Please visit the SVGS Website for the application link. See your counselor for more information. All applications are due February 20, 2020.

     

    IMPORTANT REMINDERS/Activities:

     

    14. Library hot spots are for home use only. Anyone using it at school will have their hot spot privileges suspended.

     

    15. Hey Seniors! If you are participating in the Senior Holiday Play, remember practices are this week, December 9-12 Monday through Thursday from 3-4PM. Learn your lines and be at practice!!

     

    16. This is the last week to choose your senior photo for the yearbook and turn in your baby picture.
