Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)
The Special Education Advisory Committee consists of members representing community civic organizations, business and industry, public agencies concerned with the care of persons with disabilities, and parents of students with disabilities. The committee is appointed by the School Board and local school division personnel serves as ex-officio members. The committee advises the School Board of unmet needs, long-range plans, and participates in the development of priorities for students with disabilities. The committee meets quarterly and meetings are open to the public. One meeting is designated specifically for the review of the annual special education plan. Membership of the committee shall include, but not be limited to, those school division personnel providing the assessment components and the supervisor of special education.
