Achieving Excellence

  • Strategic Plan Feedback on the SCS Strategic Plan

Each school board is required by the Virginia Standards of Quality to adopt a divisionwide comprehensive plan to improve classroom instruction and student achievement.  A draft three-year plan for Staunton City Schools has been created with input from school board members, administrators, and instructional coaches. We would like to broaden our level of input to include students, families, community members, and all staff.  Please provide feedback from your perspective regarding action steps listed in the plan, by completing the survey at the following link:

    Strategic Plan Survey

    • The survey will remain available through Friday, April 5, 2019.  While there is no requirement to include a name in the survey, please be reminded that this survey is subject to Freedom of Information Act and may be viewed as part of public record.
    • To view a draft copy of the divisionwide comprehensive plan in full, please click on the link,or visit Central Office (116 West Beverley Street, Staunton) to view a hard copy.
    • If you would like to speak at a public hearing regarding the strategic plan, please attend the school board meeting scheduled for Monday, May 13, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in City Hall Chambers.

Based on the recommendations provided through the survey and public hearing, the strategic plan will be reviewed and updated again.  The school board anticipates final approval of a plan during the May 13th school board meeting.
