Welcome Back Students!
Ms. Amanda Francis is the Director of School Counseling at Staunton High School. She is a former graduate from this high school and a JMU alumni. Ms. Francis majored in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology, and then obtained her Masters of Education/Education Specialist Degrees in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health. In addition to being a school counselor, Ms. Francis is also a Licensed Professional Counselor and has experience working in the outpatient counseling field as well as Intensive In-home counseling. At this time Ms. Francis volunteers her services with ARROW in Staunton (a not for profit agency that helps with mental health needs in our community) and is a board member of the Central Valley Counselor Association. This is Ms. Francis' 3rd year as a school counselor with Staunton City Schools. She was a school counselor at Ware Elementary School for one year prior to coming to SHS last school year. Prior to that, she worked as a Therapuetic Day Treatment Counselor with Valley Community Services Board at Ware Elementary School. Ms. Francis is a Staunton native and currently resides in Staunton.
Ms. Francis is a lover of pets and her dogs are Staunton Storm Dogs! Pictured left to right: Raine (she loves snuggles) and Jasper (he also loves snuggles).
