Mrs. Karen Hall Swortzel

Mrs. Hall-Swortzel was an Army brat, living in multiple states and in Germany.  In 1985, she enrolled at Mary Baldwin College; she has lived in Augusta County ever since.  Mrs. Hall-Swortzel earned her BA in English from MBC, her M.Ed in Reading from UVA, and did EdD work at UVA and MFA work at Ashland University. 

Mrs. Hall-Swortzel and her husband live on the family farm in southern Augusta County, raising purebred Angus cattle and Suffolk sheep.  They have three grown children and five grandchildren (#6 is due the end of Sept 2018) who live in the area. Mrs. Hall-Swortzel loves to travel, read, write, spin yarn and knit.
