Mrs. Karen Hall Swortzel

Mrs. Hall-Swortzel was an Army brat, living in multiple states and in Germany.  In 1985, she enrolled at Mary Baldwin College; she has lived in Augusta County ever since.  Mrs. Hall-Swortzel earned her BA in English from MBC, her M.Ed in Reading from UVA, and did EdD work at UVA and MFA work at Ashland University. 

Mrs. Hall-Swortzel and her husband live on the family farm in southern Augusta County, raising purebred Angus cattle and Suffolk sheep.  They have three grown children and eight grandchildren who live in the area. Mrs. Hall-Swortzel loves to travel, read, write, spin yarn and knit.
