Why? They are critical to the culture in Staunton City Schools and student achievement.
Each of our schools must be a welcoming and accepting place where people of all backgrounds and persuasions can learn and teach in an environment where they are included, valued and respected.
We’re working to make our schools more inclusive.
The Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities and the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge have partnered with Staunton City Schools to lead a yearlong diversity and inclusion educational process. At the end of the process, we will have a strategic plan for cultivating diversity and inclusivity in our school division. We’ll also make a well-informed decision on the name of our high school.
Our work is in progress and will continue.
