Hi, I am Kelsey Murray the new Speech-Language Pathologist at Dixon. I moved to Staunton from Jackson, MS this summer with my husband, Hunter, 2 dogs (Ali and Jenny) and 2 cats (Leo and Noctis). I have my B.A. in English and B.S. in Communication Science Disorder from the University of Mississippi, I have my M.S. in Deaf Education with Concentration on Early Childhood Development from the University of Southern Mississippi and I have my M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Western Kentucky University. I have taught special education and gifted (6th-8th grade) for one year, followed by teaching 3 year-olds for 2 years and worked with geriatrics at skilled nursing facility this past year. I am very excited to be retuning to the preschool age group; I love getting to see children learn new things and pick-up new skills. I believe a big part of learning comes from playing and through playing children develop language, social and problem-solving skills; these skills lead to future success. I am excited for the 2018-2019 school year!
